What a day! Most brides dream of a white wedding, but for Amy her wedding was a white out wedding at Brockencote Hall.
It was December the 8th and it had been snowing for most of the night. Amy got ready at her mums beautiful Barn conversion and the ceremony took place at Stoke Prior church, the real challenge was getting there as the light flurries had become a blizzard with the winds picking up quite considerably.
Once we got there the service was lovely and very touching and Amy, her mum who gave her away and her bridesmaids made a real entrance, but afterwards was where the real fun in the snow began.
I asked Tom and his Groomsmen to throw a few snowballs, quite a few for some reason came my way :), then we were off to Brockencote Hall in Chaddesley Corbett. I love the winding road leading up to Brockencote, it makes for some lovely car shots and Amy and Tom were really great sports and left the warmth of the beautiful Rolls Royce to have some fun in the snow and some lovely pictures around the lake and dove house at Brockencote. Tom cleared a path for Amy and the couple photography began. By this time it was only snowing lightly and the sun had decided to make an appearance.
Once inside it was a bit cold for the guests outside so we cleared the reception area at Brockencote which has a lovely fireplace and we did the group pictures inside.
I love capturing photojournalistic style pictures when I can and with the Christmas tree and the snow still falling outside it was such a lovely atmosphere and everybody was easing into the Spirit of the season.
By the time the speeches started the snow was falling very hard again, in fact at this point we had an actual white out, but by the time the speeches ended we were able to pop outside and do a nighttime shoot, one of my favourites as it gives me the opportunity to get my lights out and capture the newly fallen snow in the dark, it adds another dimension to the wedding photography.
Once we finished that it was time to cut the cake and photograph the first dance. Its lovely when you photograph a couple who were so obviously at ease in each others company and so in love. Tom could make Amy smile with a look and a touch, It was great to photograph their wedding day.
