Alice and Lee’s windy winter wedding at Dunsley Hall Hotel.
A couple of questions I get asked a lot are “What will happen if it rains?” “Our wedding is a winter wedding, what will we do for photographs?” and I reply, you have hired a professional wedding photographer who has the experience and knowledge to capture a wonderful set of images, whatever the time of year, or the weather has to throw at us, as long as you are willing to get your feet a little bit wet 🙂
A great example of this was Alice and Lee’s wonderful winter wedding. We had storm Barbara knocking at our door, literally. This is where my knowledge of lighting comes in to play, because light is what its all about, so I got out my light meter and my Lastolite flash soft boxes and my speed lights and we were away and its great to be able to get your creative hat on.
We managed to get some lovely bridal portraits with the bridesmaids and the bride in her parents back garden before we went and the some lovely group shots before the meal. During the speeches storm Barbara really let us know she was there, with the trees bending to a near 45 degree angle under her wrath, but as soon as they ended we were in the eye of the storm where we got the big lights out, turning a pitch black scene by the pond at Dunsley Hall Hotel into a magical set of beautiful Bridal portraits, finishing of with a fantastic wire wool shot.
